I have no resolutions. I do have some aspirations.

I won tickets to tonights Vancouver premier of Handmade Nation and it’s going to be sweet! Before the screening there is an hour of booths and vendors selling their own handmades. Should be good. Come join in what is expected to be a rad documentary and beautiful evening as a whole.

Discovery / Bike Rides / Daisy Chains / Urban Crawls. It’s wonderful.

FPO : For Print Only, from the lovely people that brought you UnderConsideration. This two color prospectus is rad and economical. Lately I’ve been really digging the low-fi quality of black ink on colored paper.

Amidst the papers and final projects of the last month my friend Hannah had time along with some other classy gals from TheBirdhouse™ to put on a benefit concert for Vancouver based charity Imagine1day.

imagine1day is a nonprofit organization that provides an opportunity for donors to be directly connected to projects that provide primary education for all children in Ethiopia, Africa.

For the event I designed some small handout cards where people could write what they imagined for the future. They turned out great and we’re accompanied by lovely music by The Magician, Eisenhauer, and In Medias Res. By the end of the evening we were able to raise over $1000 for Imagine1day, it was awesome.

I really love the way Imagine1days online giving works. They list actual items (e.g. chalkboards, a school roof, windows, paint, desks, etc.) that you can purchase. It makes the whole process so tangible and I love that.

You can support any of the elements of an education venture, such as the roof of a classroom, the water system, or the desks and blackboards. 100% of your contribution will fund the children’s education project of your choice and no administration fees are kept.

This past week Mr. Leng introduced me to Radiozero. In addition to having great mixes (#53 & 55) the blog also introduced me to the illustration stylings of Damien Correll (above). His style is sick and delicious, a good combination.

This month has already been so good with the release of a new mix from The New Balearic so my ears are loving life right now.
