Impromptu dance party last night at the mansion. I busted out the flash to get some shots, but really I just wanted to document and learn from Mr. Jones dance moves.

Also in the last week its become very inconvenient that i have been sans mobile phone. I never realized that in a short number of days without a phone I would start to be categorized by those around me as that guy. I’d like to stick it out and fight against the idea that I need a phone to survive life, but a replacement is already in the mail and will be at my door tomorrow. I’ll give you a call.

All in all with summer schooling happening and the occasional hanging out with local Texas compadres I haven’t been doing too much intereneting, and the digital consumption I have ingested has consisted primarily of friends blogs, because I like you guys (and gals)

Unfortunately, it still got me, so here I sit, zinc sitting next to my bed and Sea Wolf playing in the background to comfort my ears. I think the plan of action for today is to stick with soup as my meal of choice and never be more than 2 yards from a kleenex box. I’m open to suggestions.

Below are some findings lately that I’ve neglected to post:

A few weekends ago I went to the BC Student Forum and although there were times where i felt like I was out of place because I wasn’t an overly eager 12th grader looking to make ‘connections’ there were some good speakers and good conversations had during the two day conference. These next two recent findings relate to the conference:

Number 1. Biro Creative
Nicholas Klassen of Biro was in the forum panel and it was great to here his thoughts on engaging our culture. Biro seems to be doing an awesome job of this, pairing quality design with important issues of our time.

Number 2. Give Meaning
Tom Williams who founded Give Meaning was at my table at the forum and is a really interesting/inspiring guy to talk to. Give Meaning lets you or an organization have a digital presence within their community to help you raise money for your cause.

Number 3. traceyj goes etsy
traceyj is awesomely nice and her photos are the same. Recently she opened an Etsy shop, go peruse its aisles and feast on her dreamy photos. If I wasn’t a university student who is balancing buying coffee and paying for rent then I would get this. Maybe I should lay off the coffee for a while…

Number 4. Video Awesomeness
I don’t know where I found this first video, but the fact that it’s in Spanish should not deter you from checking out its rad typography. The second is the new music video for the song DVNO by Justice. Its 80’s logo style is shiny and rad.

Number 5. Frank Chimero
I’ve been using del.icio.us a bit more lately and the printing company I worked for last year had actually printed a CD that Frank designed, which led me to his website. Recently I stumbled across his site again and he’s updated with some nice illustrations. I like The States.

*i’m not against little girls or teddy bears, owning several of both, but the photo is uber cheese and doesn’t deserve to win against puppy cuteness incarnate.
